2021 Tesla Model x “Neptune”
The reason I got the car was:
In October 2020 my wife and son (he is a car nut) conspired to buy the Tesla.
I was sitting across the room playing with my phone. Unaware to what was going on at the kitchen counter.
When my wife said "We just ordered a Tesla!"
I had heard of Tesla, but really didn't know much about them. I rather dismissed them as a fad.
They got it mostly because of the technology and the fact that it wasn't made in Detroit or overseas.
As it turnout out the car was "me". I'm a retired electrical engineer. It was perfect.
The technology is off the charts. It is full of practical features, Navigation, Autopilot, All-wheel drive, anti slip ,adjustments for ride comfort, acceleration, ride height, towing, personalized seat and mirror adjustments, DOG mode, streaming audio, Web browser. A app that I can see where my car is, start the climate controls remotely, schedule a service appointment.
And some not so practical, for a car, like streaming video eq: Netflix etc., video games.
It really does well in our Interior Alaska cold winter environment. It drives as well at 38 below as it does and 38 above zero. However, it uses much more energy in the cold. Two to three times as much. Although I use the "Dog Mode" feature liberally and I keep it in a warm garage in the winter.
